Paradise Cove Wedding, West Side Oahu

Paradise cove is on the West side of Oahu at Koolina. It’s a really nice venue for photography. The weather on the west side tends to be quite nice. It’s not too far from Waikiki so that is a plus if you our your guests are staying in Waikiki. I wouldn’t recommend trying to make the drive in between 3-6pm though. Leave a bit early if you are driving in the afternoon.

The beaches are beautiful out here and get some nice views of the Waianae mountain range. It would be one of my top choices for an outdoor wedding on Oahu.

Kawela Bay Family Picture

Kawela bay in on the north tip of the island of Oahu. It’s far from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Once you are out of the the city the drive up the coast is quite scenic. If you drive up the middle of the island you will pass all the famous surf beaches like Waimea bay and pipeline. Haleiwa is a nice place to stop before or after your photo shoot.

It’s a great spot to have a family picture for a lot of reasons. There crescent shaped bay cuts a lot of wind so I will recommend this spot on windier days. It’s also nice if you like a beach shoot but also want to take some pictures in a grove of coconut trees. The big banyan tree on the way to the beach is famous from appearing in 3-4 movies. Kawela bay is in my top 5 recommended spots for a family photo on the north shore of Oahu.

Lupe and Dustin– Laie Hawaii Temple Wedding

If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints you should definitely consider getting sealed at the Laie temple. I’ve shot weddings at a dozen temples and this is definitely my favorite. (Not just because I grew up around the corner from it.) It has a lot of great spots for a photo session. The gardens are very beautiful and well kept. The fountains are amazing too. I’ve heard it called the Taj Mahal of thePacific.

It’s also just a short 5 minute drive from some amazing beaches so you can add a half hour to your coverage and get some beach photos too.

Stables Beach, Turtle Bay Wedding

If you’ve spend some time looking through my wedding galleries you’ll notice that I shoot a lot of weddings at Turtle bay resort on the north shore of Oahu. It’s a really pretty hotel. No other hotel on Oahu has as much beach in front of it. The beaches here at Turtle bay are always uncrowded. Because it’s on the north side you can catch a great view of the sunset. The staff at Turtle bay are always very nice to work with. I’ve always had great results here.

The north shore is the perfect place for a wedding.

Katie and Matthew Laie Wedding (Pounders Beach photos shoot)

Pounders beach in Laie is well known for it’s great body surfing. The views of the ocean and mountains here are some of the best on the island. I’ve grown up just around the corner from this beach. If you don’t mind getting up early you can catch the sunrise over the water at pounders. If you end up at pounders later in the day you can watch the last rays coming over the mountains. Polynesian cultural center is just around the corner with some nice shops and restraunts.

Laie is great for big groups because of the many nearby tourist attractions.

Plantation Estates Wedding, Kaaawa Hawaii

The Plantation Estate is a property in Kaaawa that I would get married at. It really has that old Hawaii feel to me. It’s just around the corner from Kahana valley which is famous for it’s dramatic views of the Koolau mountains. It’s about as opposite as you can get from Waikiki on the island of Oahu.
